This double-sided walnut board with stunning contrasting grains can withstand the impact of knives–and resist deep scratches–better than softer woods. One side features a groove to keep juices from making a mess, while a flat side provides a broad chopping surface. It’s a workhorse on the worktop and at the table.

High-end walnut boasts a rich color, is extraordinarily durable and has microbial properties that help inhibit bacterial growth.
Recessed “handles” make lifting the board a breeze.
Thanks to its density, walnut minimizes the visibility of scratches, thus reducing the chance of deep crevices that could harbor bacteria.
Walnut can self-heal, closing its grain when exposed to oil, and its dense structure helps repel stains over time.

Seasoning

Wash with warm soapy water, rinse and dry completely. Then apply a small amount of food-grade mineral oil to the board and let sit for a few hours to absorb into the wood before using.

Cleaning

After each use, scrape food particles off your board or plate before washing both sides with hot, soapy water and a clean sponge. Pat dry immediately with a clean towel or paper towels and stand upright on your kitchen counter to dry completely. Do NOT put it in the dishwasher. Do NOT use bleach, which could stain wood and dry it out. Do NOT leave the board or plate soaking in water. Do NOT store in high-humidity environments, which may cause warping.
